I'm Jon, and I started Docere Services (Doh-CARE-ay) because I saw a need for students, families, and professionals to have flexible, online support when navigating the education system.
Lots of places can connect you with a tutor or a quick reference, but those are usually limited in scope and might only look at things from one perspective. You need someone who can give academic support across a variety of subjects, understands the different systems within education, and can speak to the real ins and outs of school. My mission for Docere Services is to be that well-rounded, multi-perspective support, leaning on my 20 years of experience working in multiple educational roles. Docere is Latin for inform, teach, or guide, and that's exactly what I'm prepared to do for you.
Whether you need consulting as a parent, academic tutoring for your child or yourself, or professional guidance, I can provide a service to meet your needs.

“Jon is one of the best teachers I know. His ability to relate with his students is wonderful to see. He makes learning engaging and relevant. He’s very knowledgeable on many subjects, well traveled, and he has a great sense of humor.”
- Debbie H.
“Right away, I noticed how likable Jon is and what a great sense of humor he brings... What stands out most is Jon's insightful, considerate, and genuine passion for writing. I especially appreciate his teaching methods, which are grounded in clear communication, adaptability, and empathy. He has extensive knowledge of English and History, but what sets him apart is his ability to meet students where they are. I remember a time when students were struggling to understand a topic, and Jon seamlessly adjusted his explanation into simpler language they could grasp. He is absolutely a great teacher.”
- Ellie S.
“Jon was encouraging and patient. He committed more energy and enthusiasm than was required. These are traits of a caring and high-class person. Try him, you’ll thank me.”
- Jake B.
